AI-Driven Industrial Energy Systems

The research group AI-Driven Industrial Energy Systems addresses the transformation of industrial energy systems in the context of the energy transition. The integration of renewable energy sources, increasing customer requirements and new technologies on the path to climate neutrality are changing industrial energy systems in the long term and resulting in fluctuating energy flows. It is therefore crucial to optimise the flexibility of energy supply and demand.

Our research focuses on the development of smart industrial energy systems and comprehensive energy system analyses, including scenario-based assessments and time-resolved simulation and optimisation models. We use the latest mathematical, empirical and artificial intelligence methods to investigate options for flexibility in order to identify practicable and economic potential.
