The project CaCTUS aims to evaluate technical potentials of Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU) and Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) in Austria. This includes the identification of climate impacts of Austria’s CO2 sources and the reduction potential of potential CO2 sinks.
Within the project relevant CO2 source-to-sink routes and infrastructure requirements should be determined. The aim of this project is to assess the potential contribution of CCU and CCS measures to climate neutrality. Based on these recommendations for their implementation in Austria should be formulated.
