Every year, the Wirtschaftskammer Steiermark awards the WKO scholarship for final theses of particular relevance to the Styrian economy. The University of Leoben was honoured to receive two of the prizes at the award ceremony in Graz last week. We would like to congratulate David Siebenhofer (Chair of Energy Network Technology) and Hanna Teuschl (Chair of Metallurgy) on receiving the awards for their Master's theses.
The topic of David Siebenhofer's master's thesis at EVT: The future charging requirements of e-trucks in Austria at district level. This represents a first step in a new field of energy system modeling. The growing market for e-trucks will play a major role far beyond Styria and will therefore increasingly have to be considered in the modelling and optimization of energy systems.
However, there are still some things that need to be researched if more and more goods are to be transported in a more energy-efficient and climate-neutral way. David Siebenhofer is working on a few of these open questions in his work at our Chair, which he began following his Master's thesis.
